For speech pathologists & AAC professionals
Help us build better personalised AAC communication.
Talksy Photo is a personalised AAC app that turns personal photos and vocabulary into sentences and speech. It's early-stage, and we're looking for speech pathologists and AAC professionals to help shape it.
What Talksy Photo is
Talksy Photo starts with the people, places and things that are part of a person's actual life. Personal photos become vocabulary; vocabulary becomes sentences; sentences become speech. It's designed for AAC users, with setup shared between users, families and supporters.
Photo → word → sentence → speech

Where we are, honestly
We're transparent about where we're at. Talksy Photo has not yet been through formal clinical testing or professional evaluation, and we won't claim otherwise. It's evidence-informed in its design, but pre-testing in its status. That's exactly why we're seeking professional input now - before, not after, we lock things in.
What we'd like professionals to review
- Vocabulary organisation
- Sentence-building flow
- Personalisation using photos
- Ease of use for AAC users and supporters
- Potential communication contexts
- Anything that feels confusing, limiting or inappropriate
- Features that would make the tool more useful in practice
What participation involves
Whatever suits you. Some professionals will want a 15-minute look and a few honest comments. Others may want to trial the app with structured questions, or join a small ongoing feedback group that previews features before release. You choose your level of involvement, and it's easy to step back at any time.

What should we improve first?
These are the changes currently on the table. We'd genuinely like to know which of them would make the most difference in practice. Tell us in the open question on the form above, and say so if the thing you'd prioritise isn't listed here.
- Vocabulary organisation - folders, categories and how quickly a person can reach a word they use often.
- Faster setup for supporters - bulk-adding photos and captions in one sitting rather than one item at a time.
- Sentence-building support - grammar scaffolding, word order help, and reusable sentence starters.
- Sharing a vocabulary across a team - family, school and therapy working from the same set.
- Printable and low-tech backups - the same vocabulary on paper for when a device isn't available.
